Camera support
Sesam-e uses exclusively IP cameras. Check the certified HW list to see which cameras are supported.

IP camera
Day / Night operations
Sesam-e may work with images acquired during day
or night. Night images captured by camera are black and white
unless the scene is illuminated by white light. If a camera without infrared illumination is
used, additional IR illuminator must be installed for night operations.
YES
YES
Supported number of gates
Number of gates that can be controlled by
single Sesam-e installation.
1
Unlimited
Supported number of lanes
Number of lanes that can be controlled by
single Sesam-e installation.
1-2
Unlimited
Induction loop support
Support of induction loop detection of vehicle presence. Some installation
locations have induction loops installed, so Sesam-e may be configured to receive triggers for the loops.
YES
YES
Additional triggering devices
Capability of Sesam-e to be modified to accept vehicle presence signals from unusual trigger devices.
However it is recommended to use software trigger instead.
-
YES
Manual triggering
Feature that allows Sesam-e user to simulate trigger signal by pressing button in user interface.
YES
YES
Video-based triggering (SW trigger)
Special video analytics for detecting vehicle presence in the video stream of camera. When
SW trigger is used, no HW trigger must be installed for detecting vehicle presence at gate.
Optional
Optional
Automated gate opening
Sesam-e automatically sends command to the gate controller to open the barrier.
Automatic commands are generated in respect to the vehicle registration status.
YES
YES
Manual gate opening
Sesam-e enables barrier opening by clicking on buttons in user interface. Clicking the button sends command
to gate controller.
YES
YES
Gate actions log
Keeping records of all operator and system activities.

Networking
Networking IP-LAN
Sesam-e uses local area network for communication of system component. LAN interconnecting
HW components must be setup even for single gate installation,
as Sesam-e is based on IP technologies.
YES
YES
Network IP-WAN
Sesam-e may use wide area network for large, distributed deployments.
Sesam-e components may also be interconnected over Internet.
-
YES
Data sharing among gates
Sharing of archive and vehicle registration database among multiple gates. Shared data enable
view archive and statistics over multiple locations.
-
YES
Vehicle registration database
The principle of database location and sharing. Local database do not provide data for centralised
monitoring and information sharing among gates.

Plate recognition
Recognition traffic limitation
The maximum recognition rate. Single version of Sesam-e is limited
to recognise one vehicle plate every 3 seconds.
1 recognition /3 sec
Unlimited
Plate country recognition
Capability to recognise country of a license plate.
YES
YES
Plate colour recognition
Possibility to recognise
colour of plate, or dedicated area colour. Some countries use color for plate differentiation.
(colours can not be recognised during night operation of Sesam-e, because the video is black/white).

System features
Number of viewable lanes per monitor
How many lanes can be viewed on single monitor is version specific.
If more than 4 lanes should be displayed to one operator, multiple monitors may be used.
up to 2 lanes
up to 4 lanes
Editable location names
Each location (or gate) can be named in Sesam-e configuration. This is useful for
distributed deployments as Sesam-e registers location (gate) name in archive.
YES
YES
Editable lane names
Every lane in given location can be named in Sesam-e configuration. Lane names are recorded for every vehicle passage in archive
YES
YES
Editable direction of lanes
A direction can be assigned to every lane in system configuration.
Direction can be either IN or OUT. This is helpful for monitoring duration of stay or similar.

Temporary permissions
Entry permission limitation for specific dates. This feature enables define temporary permissions.
YES
YES
Weekdays / time restrictions
Entry permission limitation for specific days of week and hours.
YES
YES
Location permissions
Sesam-e supports limitation of entry permission to specific locations. Vehicles may enter through specified gates only and are
not allowed to enter the other gates.
-
YES
Users login and authorisation
Users must log in to Sesam-e. All gate actions taken by currently logged operator are recorded by the system.
Users may be added and disabled.
YES

Archiving of passages
Information about all passages including date, time, plate numbers, registration data and status is archived.
YES
YES
Archiving of vehicle images
Image from ANPR camera is stored in archive with every passage.

Full text searching in archive
Fulltext search is available over all fields in archive. Records matching the
search criteria are displayed.

Archive export into Excel
Once the data are filtered by search function, the currently displayed records table can be exported into Excel. This allows execute additional
analysis and research. (images are not exported into Excel)
